Chez-elle, mais...

Manon revient chez-elle aujourd'hui... mais il est difficile à dire si cela est de la bonne nouvelle long terme.

Elle a un rayon X mercredi à Yarmouth. Le cardiologue soupçonne que les résultats montreront qu'elle doit retourner plus tard cette semaine avec la possibilité de remettre le tube et de rester à Halifax pendant 6 à 8 semaines.

Il EST possible que le rayon X sera positif et qu'elle n'aura pas besoin de retourner tout de suite, mais cela n'est pas le scénario le plus probable.

Donc, pourquoi revenir ? Premièrement, Manon n'a pas présentement de tube dans le ventre. En plus, il n'y a pas de raison de reprendre un rayon X tout de suite. Elle a subi une procédure hier - on a enlevé environ 400mL de fluide par moyen d'une longue aiguille (elle était endormie) - donc elle n'a pas de fluide en ce moment.

Il est donc tout aussi bien de donner l'occasion à tous d'être dans la région et de se reposer un petit peu avant un retour possible. Mais, il faudra être au courant que cette visite pourrait être brève et que le prochain voyage de Manon à l'IWK risque être très long...

À Pubnico pour l'Halloween. La prochaine fête ici sera-t-elle Noël ? Ugh.

Manon is coming home today. Though this may sound like good news at first, it definitely comes with a huge "but".

On Wednesday, Manon will have an X ray in Yarmouth. The cardiologist fears that the X ray will show a reoccurance of fluid build up, which will mean going BACK to Halifax mid-week. A chest tube would be reintroduced and her stay could be from 6-8 weeks.

It IS possible the X ray will be clear, but this is not the most likely outcome.

So why come home at all you ask ? First of all, she doesn't currently have a chest tube. She won't be getting an X ray before Wednesday in any event and she had a small procedure yesterday. They put her to sleep and extracted about 400mL of fluid using a long needle. So, for several days, fluid is not an issue.

Therefore, they thought it best to give everyone a much needed break at home before possibly returning for a long stretch in hospital. This visit may very well be short and the upcoming, possible trip to the IWK could be very long...

In Pubnico for Halloween. Is Christmas Manon's next holiday here at home ? Ugh.
