You don't always get what you want...

Un rhume ! Hier soir, avant se s'endormir, il fallait vérifier les niveaux d'oxygène de Manon. Malheureusement, ces niveaux étaient bas et l'infirmière a remis les "prongs" pour les hausser.

Qu'est-ce que celà veut dire ? Plus ou moins, Manon devra rester encore à l'hôpital pendant un bout de temps. La chirurgienne est venue ce matin avec son infirmière et elle s'est dite très satisfaite des tests de hier. Ces tests montraient que l'anatomie de Manon est encore très, très bonne et que l'opération a été un grand succès.

Mais, ce bon rapport ne change rien pour notre départ, car il faut régler le rhume avant d'enlever l'oxygène et il faut enlever l'oxygène pour rentrer à la maison. Il faut aussi vérifier si elle a la "flu", même que ce n'est pas probable.

Je serai quand même en route vers la maison cet après-midi pour soigner nos autres enfants et retourner au travail. Si Manon est toujours ici vendredi, je pourrai revenir pour (on espère) la chercher. Ne craignez pas - les rapportages continuerons aussi longtemps que Manon est à Halifax !

A cold ! Last night, before bedtime, the nurse checked Manon's oxygen levels. Unfortunately, they were lower than hoped so the nose prongs are back to get those levels up.

What does this mean ? It mainly means that Manon will be staying in hospital for a little bit longer. The surgeon returned this morning with her nurse and she mentionned she continues to be very pleased with Manon and yesterday's test results. The tests show that Manon's anatomy is very good and that her blood flow continues to be fantastic. This shows that her operation was indeed a success.

However, a good report does not help us in terms of a release time, since this cold needs to be ridded before removing the prongs, and the prongs need to be removed before going home. As a precaution, they will also test Manon for the flu, though it is unlikely she has anything more than the common cold.

I will be en route for home this afternoon to tend to our other children and I will return to work for a few days. If Manon is still here on Friday, I'll return to Halifax to (hopefully) pick up Manon and Nicole. Don't worry - the updates will continue while Manon is still in hospital !
